What are the steps for becoming an NRAEF-Approved Facilitator?

Step 1: Review the requirements and the steps to become an NRAEF-Approved Facilitator

Step 2: Submit an application accompanied with all necessary support materials (bio or resume, letter of recommendation(s), etc.)

Step 3: Participate in and complete the NRAEF-Approved Facilitator Tutorial - call 312.715.6746 to arrange the tutorial.

Step 4: Sign and submit the Facilitator Guidelines and Responsibilities Agreement and mail to:

Please include your application/registration payment of $100.00 with your signed NRAEF Facilitator Guidelines and Responsibilities Agreement. You may pay by check or money order, or call customer service at 312.715.1010, ext. 700 and pay by credit card.

Step 1: Review the requirements and steps
Your first step toward becoming an NRAEF-Approved Facilitator is to first review the NRAEF-Approved Facilitator requirements and then use the Steps to Become an NRAEF-Approved Facilitator as a roadmap. Facilitators can either be company, corporate, or restaurant in-house facilitators; State Restaurant Association (SRA) employee-trainers; independent instructors; or academic facilitators.

Step 2: Submit an application and support materials.
All requirements are outlined in the application.

Step 3: Attend the NRAEF-Approved Facilitator Tutorial.
Upon acceptance of your application, you will be invited to participate in the NRAEF-Approved Facilitator Tutorial - call 312.715.6746 to arrange the tutorial.

This can be completed online via a webinar or through a teleconference, on-site training, or at a Train-the-Facilitator session scheduled by the NRAEF. Familiarity with the NRAEF Leadership & Management Program featuring Harvard ManageMentor PLUS is recommended before attending a tutorial. The NRAEF Implementation Guide, included with enrollment in the program, also provides tools, tips and discussion session suggestions to help facilitators lead sessions effectively.

The NRAEF-Approved Facilitator Tutorial - delivered by the NRAEF - will include:

  • Explanation of the program components and how they work together to create an engaging and interactive course
  • NRAEF procedures for preparing for discussion sessions, documenting class completion, and ordering and obtaining certificates of completion.

    Step 4: Commit to the Facilitator Guidelines and Responsibilities Agreement
    Sign and submit the Facilitator Guidelines and Responsibilities Agreement and mail to:

    A non-refundable application fee of $100 is required with submission of the Facilitator Guidelines and Responsibilities Agreement.

    Congratulations! Now that you have sent in all required documents, completed the tutorial and paid your fee, you will receive confirmation of completion and a certificate stating that you are an NRAEF-Approved Facilitator.
