Associate degree or an equivalent from an accredited institution or from a recognized teacher education institution
Certified under contract with school district or Temporary Certified Teacher under contrast with the school district
Complete the Requirements of the Restaurant Management/Culinary Arts Levels of the Summer Institutes and pass certification test for all levels including Basic, Advanced and Mastery (click here for further Summer Institute details)
Complete 120 hours of industry experience as outlined in the Internship Requirements (see application form below for Internship criteria)
Submit a Unit Lesson Plan from Industry Experience
In order to maintain the Certified Secondary Foodservice Educator designation, certified professional are required earn 100 hours of Professional Development Unit (PDU) within five (5) years of acquiring the credential through a variety of professional development activities (number of units of PDU and approved activities and equivalent PDUs are being developed)
