Certified Secondary Foodservice Educator Certification

Why Certified Secondary Foodservice Educator Certification Is For You

Certified Secondary Foodservice Educator Requirements

  • Associate degree or an equivalent from an accredited institution or from a recognized teacher education institution
  • Certified under contract with school district or Temporary Certified Teacher under contrast with the school district
  • Complete the Requirements of the Restaurant Management/Culinary Arts Levels of the Summer Institutes and pass certification test for all levels including Basic, Advanced and Mastery (click here for further Summer Institute details)
  • Complete 120 hours of industry experience as outlined in the Internship Requirements (see application form below for Internship criteria)
  • Submit a Unit Lesson Plan from Industry Experience

Maintenance of Industry Certification:

  • In order to maintain the Certified Secondary Foodservice Educator designation, certified professional are required earn 100 hours of Professional Development Unit (PDU) within five (5) years of acquiring the credential through a variety of professional development activities (number of units of PDU and approved activities and equivalent PDUs are being developed)
