CALL FOR 2012 TRUSTEE NOMINATIONS

The National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation Seeks Qualified Candidates for the Board of Trustees

The NRAEF's Nominating Subcommittee requests recommendations and identification of qualified and motivated nominees to consider serving as a board member to aid the Foundation in fulfilling its mission and vision. Guidelines and procedures for making nominations and serving as a Trustee follow.

NOMINATION PROCESS

Call for Nominations: Call for Nominations will be sent via email on or about February 25, 2011. The link to submit your nomination is below. All submissions are due on March 18, 2011. Upon the receipt of a nomination and after review by the Nominating Subcommittee, an application will be sent to the selected nominee to complete and return.

Candidate Application Deadline: Applications to serve on the Board of Trustees for the 2012 term are due not later than April 4, 2011.

Subcommittee Review: The Foundation's Nominating Subcommittee will begin the review process and will schedule a meeting with Trustee candidates during the April Board meeting (April 30-May 1st). Meetings will be held either in person or via phone.

New Trustees Election: Election of new Trustees will take place at the September 2011 Board meeting. Trustees will begin their term at the January 2012 meeting.

NOMINATION CONSIDERATIONS:

  1. If eligible under the guidelines for membership in the National Restaurant Association (the "Association"), an individual or his or her company is a dues paying member in good standing of that organization. Individuals who do not qualify for Association membership, but who are supportive of the Foundation's mission, may also be nominated and elected to the Board.
  2. Displays industry awareness and visibility in the industry.
  3. Proven leadership ability and specific experience in one or more of the following areas which would benefit the programs and activities of the Foundation, for instance: fundraising, marketing/communications, investment management, and legal counsel.
  4. Previous experience serving on boards (preferably 501(c)(3) boards).
  5. Contributes to or supports the diversified composition of the Board.
