September is National Food Safety Education Month, sponsored by the International Food Safety Council, a restaurant and food industry coalition committed to food safety education and training.
(Station) and (City) restaurant and supermarket professionals remind you to "Cook It Safely" this month and every day of the year. Use a thermometer to make sure food is cooked to the proper internal temperaturethis varies for different types of meat and poultry. When you microwave, be sure to cover, stir and rotate for even cooking. And if you're warming up leftovers, be sure to reheat them to at least 165 degrees.
Remember"Cook It Safely" to keep your family safe.
(If the station agrees to distribute the "Cook It Safely" Consumer Brochure, mention it here. Some stations may mention your establishment's name, but most public service announcement do not include commercial mentions.)
