The month-long observance is designed to focus attention on the importance of safe food handling and preparation. This year's theme is "Keep it Clean"—the first step to food safety. National Food Safety Education Month is sponsored by the International Food Safety Council, a restaurant and foodservice industry coalition dedicated to food safety education.
WHAT
The Keep It Clean Clinic is an interactive food safety education event
to teach everyone involved in food preparation how to Keep It Clean and
take the first step to food safety. It is open to everyone involved in
food preparation—home cooks; community volunteers at food pantries,
homeless shelters, church suppers and other community services; and restaurant,
foodservice and supermarket employees.
(Name of host, if you have one) of (organization) will host the activities, which include "Keep It Clean" demonstrations, learning exercises and competitions. Prizes and giveaways will be awarded.
