  • The NRAEF receives generous contributions from more than 600 donors, but the need for support continues to grow 
  • In 2011, the NRAEF received scholarship applications from students from all 50 states, Guam and Puerto Rico
  • The ProStart program has grown from 100 students in 1997 to more than 95,000 students in 2013
  • There are 1,700 ProStart schools in 47 states, Guam, and U.S. military bases 
  • The NRAEF awarded nearly 500 scholarships in 2011, totaling nearly $1.1 million in support for students and educators, but we received more than 800 applications 
  • The NRAEF has awarded $14 million in scholarships in the last 15 years 
  • Nearly 200 educators attend the NRAEF Summer Institutes each year 
  • Each year, our educational partners award more than $1 million in scholarships to ProStart students and offer valuable academic credit for their program participation
  • More than 150 volunteers help the NRAEF judge scholarships, execute events and support students and educators 
  • Five years after receiving their scholarships, more than 80 percent of NRAEF scholarship recipients are still studying and/or working in the foodservice industry
